Professional Work - I was accepted to join the Intelligence Corps and served my country in Afghanistan twice. Upon leaving, I trained to be a teacher and served our community in Sandgate for 8yrs – winning an award at Kent Teacher of the Year. I was also appointed as a Specialist Leader of Education by the Department for Education. This year, I left teaching to form my own Social Media Marketing Agency which gives me the flexibility needed to serve as Chairman.
Personal Work - I am a huge believer in those ‘can help, should help’, so I also volunteer as a school governor at two local schools; I am the Chairman of Folkestone & Hythe Partnership Against Crime (FHPAC) – which works closely with business owners to ensure that our constituency is a safe place to do business. I am also very passionate about ensuring that our country is the best possible place to be a veteran. I was recently publicly appointed by the Veterans’ Minister to serve on the Veterans’ Advisory & Pensions Committee. This is complemented by my charitable work with ‘Veterans Work’ and Deloitte.
More recently, I founded and set up an ‘Online School’ with Anna Firth (National CPF Director). It was in response to COVID because we felt more could be done for children missing out on vital education. From July 2020 to Mar 2021, I was directly responsible for recruiting over 100 teachers, delivering over 4 million minutes of learning, and raising £150K in charitable donations to deliver free live lessons to children across the whole UK. I was commended by the PM, Secretary of State for Education, the Chair of the Education Select Committee as well as our Member of Parliament.
Political Work – As well as serving as your Deputy Chairman Political (through a successful General Election, County Elections and numerous by-elections), I also support the work of Kent Conservatives as their Director of Digital Communications which has enabled me to build positive working relationships with other Associations in the South East as well as CCHQ. During the Leadership Campaign, I was the ‘Constituency Captain’ for the Back Boris Campaign and facilitated a local visit by the now Foreign Secretary – Dominic Raab. As an active Conservative Campaigner, I have supported the Party widely – founding Conservative Friends of Education, which recently supported local election candidates across the UK with £1000s in political donations. I am also a member of Conservative Friends of the Armed Forces.
