Dylan is currently elected as a Conservative Party Councillor on Folkestone Town Council and lives in Folkestone.
His day jobs (he has two part-time jobs) are working for the Catholic Church as Parish Secretary for the Parish of Our Lady and St Joseph and working as an administrator for the local Conservative Party and at the local office of our Member of Parliament, Damian Collins. Both jobs involve working with and serving the local community.
During a distinguished career, Dylan has been privileged to be a teacher working in many of our local schools; to have worked managing democratic services, complaints, the administration support pool, access to information and street naming and numbering at Folkestone and Hythe District Council (when it was Shepway District Council); to have managed elections in several local authorities in London and the west country; to have worked for the NHS on Complaints and Freedom of Information across London and the southeast of England; and to have worked as a senior advisor in Government, the Council of Europe and at the United Nations managing democracy projects in many far off places in Africa, North America, India and the middle east. Dylan is keen to bring this knowledge to Kent County Council and use these skills and experience to get a better deal for local residents.
Dylan holds a BA in Public Administration and Managerial Studies, a Post Graduate Certificate of Education, and a MSc in Strategic Public Management. In addition, he is a qualified project and programme manager (Prince2 and MSP Advanced Practitioner) with the APMG.
